Overview & Scope
VidyalayPro ("we", "our", or "the App") is a comprehensive School Management & Educational ERP mobile application developed by Katrex Technologies. VidyalayPro connects school administrators, teachers, students, and parents to streamline academic administration, attendance, fee management, timetables, assignments, and school notices.
This Privacy Policy explains how VidyalayPro handles user information, administrative school data, and student privacy in full compliance with Google Play Developer Policies and applicable data protection regulations.
Information We Collect
To deliver school ERP services, VidyalayPro processes information provided by participating educational institutions or authorized users:
- Account & Profile Information: Name, roll number, admission number, grade/class, section, role (Admin, Teacher, Student, Parent), and registered mobile number or email provided by your school administration.
- Academic & ERP Data: Student attendance records, fee payment status, examination marks, timetable schedules, homework assignments, and official school circulars.
- Optional Attachments & Media: Profile pictures, homework submission photos, or document attachments selected by users.
- Technical Diagnostics: Device type, operating system version, and crash logs collected solely for app stability and performance optimization.
How We Use Information
We process collected information strictly for operational and educational purposes:
- To facilitate real-time school administration, attendance tracking, and report card generation.
- To enable parents and students to view academic progress, fee receipts, and assignment schedules.
- To send critical school announcements, examination schedules, emergency alerts, and fee reminders via push notifications.
- To verify user roles and maintain secure access control for school portals.
School ERP & Role-Based Access Control
VidyalayPro enforces strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Students and parents can only access records associated with their assigned student profile.
Educational data processed by VidyalayPro remains the property of the participating school. We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or monetize student, parent, or school data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data Protection & Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect school and student data:
All data transmissions between the mobile app and secure servers are encrypted using HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption.
Sensitive credentials and session tokens are stored securely using Android EncryptedSharedPreferences / Keychain mechanisms.
Permissions Used
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to synchronize school ERP records, homework updates, and fee status with secure servers.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to deliver urgent school circulars, attendance alerts, and exam schedules.
- CAMERA & READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Optional): Requested only when a user chooses to capture or upload a profile photo, homework submission, or notice document.
- No Unnecessary Permissions: VidyalayPro does NOT request location tracking, contacts, SMS, microphone, or Bluetooth permissions.
Children's & Student Privacy
VidyalayPro is designed for educational use by schools, teachers, students, and parents.
Student accounts are created and managed by authorized school administrators or parents. We do not collect student data independently without school authorization.
VidyalayPro complies with applicable student data privacy guidelines and COPPA regulations.
Retention & Account Deletion
Academic records are retained for the duration of the student's active enrollment at the participating educational institution or as instructed by the school administration.
Users or school administrators can request data deletion or account removal by contacting their school administration or emailing support@katrex.in.
